iPhone Membership Update Sunday, August 16 2009 - Announcements

A lot of people have been asking me to submit my WHS Mobile iPhone app to the Apple App Store. To do that, I need to pay Apple $99 (USD) to apply for the membership. I am currently a full time college/university student and don’t have any annual income. I don’t have the money required for the membership.

I’ve recently opened a checking account and signed up with PayPal because people have been asking me to put up a donate button. If you’d like to see my iPhone apps in the Apple App Store, please donate so I can do so. The first 100 donations of $10 or more will receive a free copy of a WHS Mobile or TV Manager iPhone application (donator gets to choose) when they are released. Let the games begin!

Sent my $10 a few minutes ago and I'm posting your blog address on We Got Served. Please email me if you do not get the responses you want. This would be a KILLER APP for the iPhone which is one of those very rare indespensible pieces of equipment. (Like theMediaSmart Server)The App needs to be on the iTunes App Store though as most common users will not want to jailbreak their iPhone. GOOD LUCK!!!

How can you not borrow 100 when the outcome could be thousands, do you not have any good friends or family????

Somethings not right here as he could a ford the money for a 300 dollar phone but no cash to earn him money.... what am i missing here?

I got the phone as a gift from a friend, and I only use it for development. I do not have a service contract for it and cannot make calls from it. It's more like an iPod then anything else.If you think something is fishy, don't donate..

Also, thank you to those who have donated, I appreciate it and will email you a copy (of your choice) when it/they is/are released.

I will let you all know when I've reached the $99 and when I go and sign up for the membership. It won't be long after, maybe a couple days for the funds to reach my bank account.

I now have enough to buy the membership, I'm just waiting on PayPal to transfer the funds to my bank account. As soon as that is done, I will buy the membership and work on submitting my applications.

Those that have (or will) donate, you will receive an email as soon as they are accepted. Said email will contain information on how to get your free copy.

It takes 2 weeks for Apple to review the submission so was wondering whether we're likely to see this in Sept?

I'm currently waiting on Apple to process my tax/bank information before I can submit it as a paid app. I'm going to try submitting it right after I post this, maybe it will work and just not show up.

I've submitted the WHS Mobile app. It will be released as soon as it has been reviewed and my tax/bank info processed.

Once it is out in the app-store I will release the server software and documentation. After that, I will email each donater asking if they want a free copy of WHS Mobile. If they do, I will reply with a coupon code to allow them a free copy. If they don't want WHS Mobile and want TV Manager, they will have to wait until TV Manager is finished and available.

I don't know how long it will take to be reviewed, so please be patient.

Here are some screenshots of TV Manager Mobile: blog.compugeeksoftware.com/.../tv-manager-mobi It doesn't do much right now because it isn't finished. However, it's supposed to stream your recorded TV that you have on your Windows Home Server.

However.. I see in Appstore that it's only available in the US store ?

It has temporarily been removed from being able to be purchased. I need to fix a few problems with the server side of the software. It was and will be available worldwide.
